Driver Killed After Car Slams Into Tree In Downey

DOWNEY (CBSLA) – A driver was killed when a car crashed into a tree in Downey early Friday morning.
The crash occurred in the 8800 block of Imperial Highway, near Lakewood Boulevard, at around 1:40 a.m.
The driver, and sole occupant, died at the scene, Downey police said.
It's unclear if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the wreck. The exact cause is under investigation.
