Driver Hurt After Car Crashes Into LA Times Building

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A 75-year-old driver is injured after his sedan collided with a car and crashed into the Los Angeles Times building.

The Times reports that the motorist was treated by paramedics Saturday morning for head injuries after the accident in downtown LA. He told witnesses that he had a history of strokes.

The driver of the second vehicle told the newspaper that the man ran a red light, crashed into a car and drove over the curb and into the historic Times building.

Times security guards were evaluating the damage. No one inside the art deco building was hurt.

The Times building opened in 1935. It was designed by Gordon Kaufmann, best known for his work on the Hoover Dam. The lobby features a huge globe and 10-foot-high murals.
