Dog attacks 2 kids as they walk to school in Victorville
An 8-year-old girl was hospitalized after a dog attacked her as she walked to school in Victorville Thursday morning.
Genesis Jones and her brother were walking to school at about 7 a.m. when the German Shepherd ran up and started ripping her clothes apart. Shocked, her brother threw his shoe at the dog before running home to get his mother.

"She had cuts and bit marks all through her head," mother Ronika Jones said. "The dog dragged her all through the grass ... When I got there, she had blood all over her face and marks all over her body."
Despite her injuries, it could have been much worse if another mother hadn't scared the dog away.
"He was just after her," mother Maria Hernandez said. "There was no way for her to run away and she was already very tired."

Hernandez used a broom to get the god to stop attacking Genesis before grabbing her and taking her to her front door.
"I just got him away," Hernandez said. "I don't know how I got the strength, but I just got him away from her."
Genesis had to get 17 staples in her head after the attack but is glad she's alive.
"As long as we're all alive, we're all still good," she said. "We're all still safe."
The dog attacked another child, but only the victim sustained minor injuries.
Animal control eventually tracked down the dog and impounded it. They trying to find out if the animal has an owner before they can determine the next steps.
