Dodgers Interview Dave Roberts For Managerial Position
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Dodgers interviewed former player Dave Roberts for their vacant managerial position, Ken Rosenthal first reported on Tuesday.
Roberts has been the bench coach for the San Diego Padres over the past two seasons.
When Bud Black was fired as Padres manager during this past season, Roberts acted as the team's interim manager for one game.
The news comes days after the team announced it would interview Gabe Kapler and Darin Erstad for the same position as well.

Roberts, 43, spent 10 years in the major leagues, including three with the Dodgers from 2002-2004.
In his 10 seasons, Roberts amassed 243 stolen bases and had a career batting average of .266.
His most famous moment as a player came in 2004 with the Red Sox, when he pinch-ran in the 9th inning and a stole a critical base that eventually led to the team winning the World Series.
Other candidates for the Dodgers managerial opening include Gabe Kapler, Tim Wallach, Ron Roenicke and Darin Erstad.
The Dodgers decided to part ways with previous manager Don Mattingly on October 22nd.
