Dodgers Designate Jim Johnson For Assignment; Claim Brooks Brown From Rockies

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Dodgers have parted ways with relief pitcher Jim Johnson after acquiring him just before this season's trade deadline.

The team designated Johnson for assignment on Wednesday and also claimed pitcher Brooks Brown from the Colorado Rockies.

Brown, 30, has gone 1-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 64 career relief appearances with the Rockies in 2014-15.

Johnson went 0-3 with one save and a 10.13 ERA in 23 games with the Dodgers after being acquired from Atlanta.

Johnson was also left off the postseason roster after his abysmal performance for the team during the regular season.

Brown is not eligible to pitch for the Dodgers in the NLDS.
