Deputies shoot allegedly armed suspect during confrontation outside of 7-Eleven in East LA

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies shot an allegedly armed man during a confrontation outside of a 7-Eleven station in East LA on Tuesday. 

Deputies were called to the convenience store located in the 6500 block of E. Olympic Boulevard just after midnight in regards to a disturbance, according to a statement from the department. 

Upon arrival, they found a man who allegedly had a handgun. 

Circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, but deputies opened fire on the suspect shortly after arriving on scene. 

The unidentified man was taken to a hospital in unknown condition. 

No other injuries were reported in the incident.
