Deputies Search For Burglary Suspect In Hacienda Heights
HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Three burglary suspects led sheriff's deputies on a chase Monday into the Hacienda Heights area, where two were arrested but the third ran off, prompting a search and a lockdown at a middle school.
Police are searching the area near Seventh and Orange Grove avenues, Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Rick Thurlo said.
Deputies began chasing the suspects about 7 a.m. near a business in the 15300 block of Gale Avenue where a break-in had just occurred, Thurlo said. The suspects' vehicle eventually stopped near Seventh and Orange Grove avenues, where two of the suspects were arrested and the third ran off, Thurlo said.
Nearby Orange Grove Middle School was placed on lockdown as a precaution while the search was conducted.
The school lockdown was lifted a short time later and the "perimeter" search was deactivated, but deputies remained in the general area looking for the third suspect, a deputy said.
