Delta Air Lines Expands Daily Service To Texas

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Delta Air Lines is getting ready to expand its daily service to three Texas cities.

The airline announced Tuesday they will begin twice-daily nonstop flights to San Antonio on April 7, daily service to Dallas starting on Nov. 3 and add a third daily flight to Austin on Nov. 2.

All the flights will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Compass Airlines.

As a result, Delta customers will have access to nine daily departures to three destinations between Los Angeles and Texas: four daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, three daily flights to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and two daily flights to San Antonio International Airport.

In the last year, Delta has expanded its network from LAX by adding service to Austin; Boise, Idaho; and San Salvador, El Salvador; increasing the number of flights from destinations it already serves; and expanding to year-
round service in Boston. Delta will launch service from LAX to Monterrey, Mexico, in November.

Last fall, Delta expanded its service from Los Angeles to San Francisco with the launch of its hourly, nonstop Delta Shuttle. In October, Delta will launch international service from LAX to London-Heathrow as part of its joint venture partnership with Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Service to Austin, Boise, Monterrey and San Francisco is operated by Delta Connection carriers Compass Airlines and SkyWest Airlines.

A $229 million, multi-phase project to expand and enhance Delta's Terminal 5 is underway, with the west lobby to be completed in November.
