Deadly Shooting Investigation Underway In Lancaster; Suspect Arrested
LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Tuesday investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in Lancaster.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, detectives were sent shortly before 5 p.m. on Monday to a home located in the 4600 block of East Avenue G for report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, authorities learned two Hispanic men got into a disagreement at the residence. During the argument, the suspect shot the victim with an assault rifle.
Paramedics pronounced the 29-year-old man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
"The [34-year-old] suspect was detained and arrested at the residence by responding deputies," said Deputy Mike Barraza.
The murder weapon, an AK-47 assault rifle, was recovered at the location, detectives said.
The investigation is ongoing.
