Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death Of Man In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Tuesday investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in Compton.

Shots rang out around 10:40 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of North Sloan Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an unresponsive adult man lying on the driveway, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where he later died. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

A preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown suspect confronted the man in the front yard of the location and shot him multiple times.

No suspect description has been provided at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
