Deadly crash on 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills triggers partial closure

A crash on the 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills left one person dead Wednesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

At least two vehicles were involved in a collision near the Canoga Avenue exit reported just before 4 a.m., CHP said.

The agency issued a Sig Alert closing down westbound lanes of the freeway but later reopened all those lanes by 10 a.m. 

Just after 6 a.m., aerial footage showed a heavy traffic jam along the freeway as most lanes remained closed then. 

The crash remains under investigation. No other details have been released.
