Man Shot, Killed In Possible Carjacking In Woodland Hills

WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA) — A possible deadly carjacking in Woodland Hills on Tuesday night.

The LAPD says an unidentified man was shot with a handgun multiple times and died around 8 p.m.

It happened on Royer Avenue near the corner of Leonora Drive, a block north of Ventura Boulevard.

Sky9's Stu Mundel was overhead and reported that a command post was being set up.

It started when officers from LAPD were getting 911 phone calls about shots being fired in the neighborhood.

When they arrived on scene they found a deceased male in the roadway.

In talking to the residents they put together that it was a carjacking.

The vehicle that was taken is described as a dark-colored newer model Dodge Challenger.

CBSLA's Rachel Kim reports that the LAPD found the car abandoned nearby at Stonegate Drive and Overland Drive in West Hills.

Police are actively looking for the suspect, who is described as a Middle Eastern man, 5 feet 10 inches. He was last seen getting into a grey Mercedes with hard top that left eastbound on Stonegate. The suspect was wearing a black jacket and dark pants that may be jeans.
