Coyote Caught On Camera Running Across Van Nuys Airport Runway

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A coyote was spotted Monday morning along a runway at Van Nuys Airport.

The coyote was captured on CBS2/KCAL9 aerial footage running across the northern end of the airport around 9:15 a.m.

Police vehicles were used to chase the animal towards the airport's perimeter.

It wasn't immediately known how the animal accessed the airport, but no flights appeared to be affected.

Coyote sightings have been reported in urban areas across Southern California in recent years, including in Torrance, Hancock Park, and Burbank.
