Sheriff's Deputies Involved In Fight During Arrest In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA) – Two sheriff's deputies who responded to a disturbance at a beauty supply shop in Compton ended up getting into a fight with people at the scene, authorities said.

Sheriff's officials say protesters had gathered in the area of Central Avenue and Alondra Boulevard at the business to urge people not to patronize the shop because of a dispute that had occurred there two weeks ago.

At some point, the gathering led to a fight, which in turn drew a "huge response" from authorities, according to SKY9's Stu Mundel.

The suspect was injured and taken to hospital, but no deputies were hurt.

The details surrounding the fight were unclear.
