Clippers Forward Blake Griffin Withdraws From Team USA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - Los Angeles Clippers forward has withdrawn from the men's U.S. national nasketball team this summer, the Clippers said in a statement Thursday.
The former overall first pick was one of the 19 players that were invited for a chance to play for the upcoming World Cup team.
Griffin will miss duties with Team USA to help get better for the upcoming season with the Clippers.
Former UCLA guard Russell Westbrook will also be out of Team USA to help rest his recently repaired knee.
The World Cup will begin at the end of August in Spain.
