Clayton Kershaw To Start For Dodgers Tuesday After Being Reinstating From DL
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday reinstated ace Clayton Kershaw from the 15-day disabled list.
The left-handed pitcher is expected to start for the Dodgers Tuesday in their game against the Washington Nationals at 4:05 p.m.
The two-time National League Cy Young Award winner picked up the Dodger's 3-1 win on Opening Day against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Australia, allowing just one run on five hits in 6.2 innings.
After returning to the United States, the 26-year-old notified the club of back pain, had an MRI taken and was placed on the DL with a Teres Major strain for the first time in his big-league career.
Kershaw made two rehab stars — the first on April 25 for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and on April 30 for Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts.
The Dodgers optioned right-handed pitcher Pedro Baez to Double-A Chattanooga.
