CHP Officers Arrest Pursuit Suspect In Burbank

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — California Highway Patrol officers on Monday evening arrested a suspect in a silver Mercedes who led them on a brief pursuit along the 101 Freeway and surface streets in the San Fernando Valley.

About 9 p.m., officers attempted to stop the driver near the intersection of the 405 Freeway and 101 Freeway. The driver was said to be weaving between lanes and failing to yield.

The pursuit reached speeds of about 45 mph on the freeway.

The driver exited in the Burbank area, leading officers along surface streets before stopping his car.

Trailing officers pulled their cars up behind the Mercedes and pointed their firearms.

The suspect exited his car and approached officers. Officers appeared concerned and repeated orders for the man to put his arms in the air.

Officers were then able to get the man to surrender with his hands up, and officers made the arrest.
