Suspect At Large After Shots Fired At Deputies In Compton
COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — A suspect who allegedly fired a weapon at sheriff's deputies Friday evening led officials on a short pursuit before a foot bail that turned into a barricade situation.
The pursuit ended in the 700 block of Laurel Street, at Wilmington Avenue, in Compton around 9:15 p.m.
Two Latinos wearing dark clothing fled.
Authorities did not say what the suspects were originally wanted for.
Officials said one of the men believed to be the driver fired shots at deputies at the end of the chase.
No deputies were hit. Deputies said it is unknown if the suspect was hit.
One suspect was quickly apprehended inside an apartment complex where the other suspect also fled.
The complex is on lock down, reported Stu Mundel in Sky 9.
Authorities said the other suspect, about 5-foot-8 and 20-25 years old, is at large.
He was last seen running from the area in a southeast direction. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, officials said.
