Chargers Top LB Melvin Ingram Placed on IR, Out For At least 6 Weeks

SAN DIEGO (CBSLA.com) - In the same week when the Chargers defeated the Super Bowl champs, the team found out that they will lose their top linebacker for at least half the season.

According to the team's website, the team placed linebacker Melvin Ingram on the injured reserve list with the designation to return after injuring his hip.

Ingram, who was drafted in 2012, missed 12 games last season after he tore his ACL at the beginning of last season.

The former Gamecock had one sack with eight tackles in the first two games.

Chargers face the 2-0 Bills on CBS 2 at 10AM.
