Carpool Lanes Of 405 Freeway In Hawthorne To Be Closed Overnight For Sinkhole Repair
HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — The carpool lanes of the San Diego (405) Freeway will be shut down through at least Thursday morning to allow authorities to repair a sinkhole.
The sinkhole was first reported at 11:37 a.m. on the 405 Freeway at West 135th Street in Hawthorne, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A SigAlert was issued for both the north and southbound carpool lanes of the freeway for at least 12 hours about an hour later. The closure was updated to a Caltrans closure at 2:05 p.m.
El Segundo police says the closure is expected to last until at least 5 a.m. Thursday.
