Car-To-Car Shooting Investigation Shuts Down 405 Freeway On-Ramps Overnight

WESTCHESTER (CBSLA.com) — An investigation continued Thursday into a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting that wounded a motorist on Howard Hughes Parkway in Westchester, police said.

The shooting happened at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday near the Howard Hughes Parkway on-ramp to the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway, Los Angeles police Sgt. Scott Stevens said. The Howard Hughes Parkway ramps to the 405 were shut down for close to three hours for the investigation.

A 32-year-old man was leaving a bar in the area, about two blocks from where the shooting took place, when someone pulled up alongside and fired several shots into the victim's vehicle, inflicting four gunshot wounds – to the legs, an arm and a hand, Stevens said.

The victim drove himself to Marina Del Ray Hospital, where he was in stable condition this morning, Stevens said.
