Camarillo Springs Under Voluntary Evacuation Order Due To Storm

CAMARILLO SPRINGS (CBSLA.com) — A Pacific storm has many burn-areas on high alert, including Camarillo Springs, where voluntary evacuations have been ordered.

Crews moved K-rails into place Thursday in anticipation of the heavy rain which threatens to cause mud and debris slides in the area previously inflicted by the Springs fire.

Residents in the area were also hard at work preparing for the storm by stacking up sandbags, which line much of Gitana Avenue.

"I'm terrified but we're staying. I'm from Virginia and I've never seen anything like this. But we're staying," Claire Curry, a resident, told KCAL9's Amy Johnson.

Meanwhile, some residents told Johnson that despite the preparations made, they planned to evacuate.
