Brush Fire Breaks Out Near Cal State San Bernardino; 3 People Burned
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA) — With three fires scorching the Southland, a fourth brush fire broke out near Cal State University San Bernardino Tuesday afternoon, forcing evacuations.
The 100-acre Little Mountain Fire broke out at about 12:30 p.m. near University Parkway and West Varsity Avenue.
Ambulances were requested near Cal State San Bernardino for three burn victims. The circumstances and cause of the fire, and the conditions of the victims were not confirmed.
Authorities say the wind-driven fire was threatening structures. San Bernardino County Fire officials requested the closure of the 215 Freeway from the 210 to I-15 shortly after 3 p.m. because of blowing smoke and embers.
An evacuation center was set up at Marshall Elementary School at 2388 North G St.
All evacuations were lifted about 6:30 p.m., San Bernardino police said.
