Brother Of Missing CSUN Student Speaks Out
NORTHRIDGE (CBSLA.com) — The brother of a missing 23-year-old CSUN student is desperate to find his sibling.
KCAL9's Brittney Hopper spoke to the missing man's brother, Ahmed Alkadi, Saturday.
Abdullah Abdullatif Alkadi, who is a full-time student, was last seen on Sept. 17, around 12 p.m., at his home in the 9900 block of Reseda Boulevard, according to the LAPD.
Alkadi was reportedly trying to sell his Audi on Craig's List for $36,500 on Wednesday evening.
Alkadi is from a prominent family in Saudia Arabia.
The missing man's brother -- also a CSUN student -- told Hopper it is out of character for his brother to go days without speaking to family here or in Saudi Arabia.
"This is a miserable situation," Ahmed said.
He says his brother loved school.
"He came here to fulfill his dream," Ahmed said, "He wanted to have a good education and go back to his country and be something in this world."
Ahmed said his parents, both in Saudi Arabia, are understandably anxious.
"I talked to my father and he is crying all the time," Ahmed said, "At least he can talk to me. My mother is unable to talk."
The LAPD is investigating.
The missing man stands at 5 feet, 3 inches. He weighs 110 pounds. Police say Alkadi was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and beige shorts.
His last known traced location, though phone records, was in the city of Beaumont -- about two hours away and a place where he has no known contacts.
Ahmed remains optimistic.
"I know I will see him again," Ahmed says, "and hopefully it's soon."
If you have any information about Alkadi or his whereabouts, you're asked to call LAPD immediately.
