Lakers Will Bring Back Metta World Peace

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Lakers will sign free agent forward Metta World Peace to a one-year contract.

World Peace is 35 and will enter his 15th season in the NBA.

During his career, World Peace has averaged 13.8 points per game, 2.0 rebounds per game and 0.8 steals per game.

While he has been out of the NBA for a year, World Peace has been working out with the team often and has impressed management with his ability to mentor the younger players.

World Peace played four seasons with the Lakers from 2009-13 and was critical in the Lakers' 2010 championship. Los Angeles amnestied World Peace after the 2012-13 season.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
