Professional boxer Ryan Garcia arrested for felony vandalism at Beverly Hills hotel

Professional boxer Ryan Garcia was arrested for alleged felony vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills over the weekend.

Officers were called to the Waldorf Astoria at around 5:15 p.m. for reports of an "intoxicated person, according to Beverly Hills Police Department officials.

"Upon obtaining statements from the hotel management, it was determined that Mr. Garcia was a registered guest of the hotel and had caused damage to a guest room and the hallway of the hotel," a statement from BHPD said. "Hotel management requested the arrest of Mr. Garcia for property damage."

Police say that Garcia was hospitalized prior to booking for undisclosed medical care. He was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism and has since been released.

It's unclear how much damage Garcia allegedly caused.

He took to X where he shared several posts on Sunday following the incident.

"Kinda funny both trump and I are in jail," one post said. "I don't know if he is in jail but I know he got convicted This sucks, But I love Jesus I will be okay."

He compared himself to Britney Spears in another post, which said, "I feel like I'm Ryan Spears. Aka Britney Spears. This sucks. I never hurt anyone. I've only ever loved everyone prayed for people. And try to make a change in this cruel world. I love you Christ Jesus Amen."

Garcia, 25, most recently earned an upset victory over Devin Haney in April, which was intended to be a bout for the WBC junior welterweight title, but he missed weight by three pounds and was unable to contend for the title.

Following the fight, Garcia reportedly tested positive for performance enhancing substances but he has denied those allegations, which remain under review.

Garcia is 25-1 in his professional career and was the World Boxing Council's interim lightweight champion in 2021.
