CBS News Los Angeles

Bomb squad investigators responded to a report of a suspicious device near a temple in Pomona, leading to an evacuation of the building and a school Monday morning.

A teacher at the school called police at 6:40 a.m. after finding a device and investigators called in the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's bomb squad at 7:30 a.m., Pomona Police Department spokeswoman Aly Mejia said. But authorities later said there was no device found.

The law enforcement response resulted in a closure of the street Temple Beth Israel is located on. Towne Avenue was shut down in both directions between East Harrison Avenue and Grove Street, authorities said.

No other details have been released by police.
