No Explosives Found at Bolsa Grande High School, Classes To Resume Wednesday

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — A Garden Grove high school that was damaged in a fire over the weekend was evacuated Tuesday afternoon when a note indicating a bomb threat was found on campus.

Police say Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove was locked down about 2:15 p.m. after a note threatening the campus was found.

"Just out of caution, we initiated a lockdown," Garden Grove police Lt. Ben Stauffer said.

By 4 p.m., police had checked all of the classrooms and did not find any explosive devices, Garden Grove Unified School District spokeswoman Amy Stevens said.

Classes will resume as usual Wednesday, she said.

Eight classrooms were damaged in a weekend fire on the campus. A few hundred students who attend classes in the burned wing are being accommodated in makeshift classrooms in the cafeteria, library and the gym.

Students will continue to meet in those areas until winter break. When students return to school in January, they will use portable classrooms until the fire-damaged wing is restored.
