Bicyclist Killed By Suspected Drunken Driver In Lakewood
LAKEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A bicyclist was struck and killed early Sunday morning by a motorist who then struck a utility pole on Del Amo Boulevard in Lakewood, authorities said.
The motorist, whose condition was not immediately known, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Sgt. G. Acosta of the sheriff's Lakewood station said the woman who was riding the bicycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2 a.m. crash, which occurred in the 11700 block of Del Amo Boulevard, just east of the 605 Freeway.
