If you like movies and want to appreciate the people who help make them, then this annual exhibition of costume design for film is well worth attending at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. The purpose behind featuring exhibits like these is to provide students, designers and the general public with a resource for exploring the impact historic fashions have had on society at large. Costumes featured in select 2013 films will be on display including last year’s Academy Award winner for Best Costume Design, Jacqueline Durran, for her work in "Anna Karenina" starring Keira Knightley.

Style Fashion Week is the biggest event of the season featuring fall 2014 collections from some of the most influential designers in the world as well as five days of red carpet arrivals, runway fashion shows and product launches. While official details have yet to be released, the inside scoop is that this is by far one of the best fashion events in Los Angeles. It's usually held at the Avalon every year and is basically a huge art gallery and showcase, fashion show and live music concert all rolled into one. Attendees range from buyers and retailers to media personalities, fashion stylists and consumers alike. When Project Ethos first launched back in 2005 at the El Rey Theater, it was the first time ever that fashion, music and art all came together under one roof in one night. It was also one of the first fashion industry events to open its doors to the general public.
