Running through Feb. 21, the west coast debut of "FLY" by Trey Ellis and Richardo Kahn takes over the revered Pasadena Playhouse. This serious stage production relays the story of the first African-American Army Air Corp fighters. These eight men, known as the Tuskegee Airmen, flew over Europe and North Africa during World War II while injecting a special dose of heroism that shines through on stage. During intermission, Valentine Day's dates can feel comfortable canoodling in the courtyard of this seminal theater during intermission and after the curtain closes, too.
