Best Places To Meditate In Orange County
From time to time, we all need a place to escape the stress and anxiety of daily life. Meditation was exceptionally popular during the 1960's and 70's, and with day to day life as it is, we surely need something to quiet our minds these days. Orange County residents are lucky to have several outdoor spots that lend themselves to quiet reflection and meditation. Irvine has rapidly become a busy place, but the Woodbridge area still has such serene places as the Mike Ward Community Park. Though there are nearby handball and basketball courts, it is easy to find quiet places to close your eyes and simply breathe in and out. The gazebos near Alton Parkway or Barranca offer a great view of the man-made lake and the surrounding area. The nearby outdoor mall also is a great place to sit and read and think.

A cooperative effort between students and faculty dating back 45 years, the Fullerton Arboretum is one of the most scenic places to meditate in the OC. A quiet walk along one of the paths provides ample opportunity to think through a problem. Benches are available, providing a quiet place to read or simply reflect. Thousand Steps Beach

California is known for its waterfront properties, but this gem is something special. Access to the Thousand Steps Bach is 223 steps down a long staircase, but some visitors have said it feels more like a thousand. The view at the bottom, though, makes the trek worthwhile. If you are around at low tide, you can see a rock tunnel that leads to yet another great meditation spot. If you are in a more adventurous and athletic mood, Thousand Steps Beach also has volleyball courts and tide pools to explore.

The classic "Happy Days" series referenced "Inspiration Point," a well-known makeout spot, during the run the series. Newport Beach has its own Inspiration Point, which actually is a nice spot for a romantic picnic as well as place to just chill. Located on Corona Del Mar State Beach, the area has hiking trails; fishing, swimming and scuba diving also are allowed. No matter if you want to stay on the beach or descend below the surface of the ocean for some quiet meditation, this area is inspiring.

Want to put everything in perspective and rise above your troubles? Head over to the Great Park in Irvine and take a ride in a large orange balloon. Taking visitors 400 feet above the ground, this popular attraction can hold between 25 and 30 people. Even if you keep your feet firmly on Terra Firm, the park offers plenty to do and lots of little spots to sit quietly.
