Best Country Western Bars In Los Angeles
Los Angeles isn't exactly known for its country music scene as much as it is for its paparazzi-crazed, Hollywood glam. Good and authentic country bars in L.A. are hard to come by for people who want to square or line dance to country music all night long. Only a few places in L.A. are truly dedicated to country music and line dancing. If you want to hang out somewhere where you can wear a flannel shirt and cowboy boots while practicing your two-step, head to the outskirts of town like an outlaw to get your fix at the best Southern-style bars in Los Angeles.

One of the best places to hear live country music is hands down Cowboy Country, which first opened its doors in 1999 to fill an unmet need for this kind of music. Love it for its three dance floors, including a dancehall for square dancing that is 15,000 square feet. Its two levels include a full kitchen, two bars, a pool room and a large stage where local country bands come to perform. Rodeo photos, autographed guitars and music memorabilia give this place a real country feel.
Saddle Ranch

This place might not always play country music, but it has a mechanical bull to make up for it. Saddle Ranch blends modern rock with a country twist making it both a local and tourist attraction that feels like a cross between a cozy ski lodge, a horse ranch and an old-school Western saloon built with wood and stone. This places gets super crowded so reservations are highly recommended. It's a great spot to celebrate birthdays with its high energy crowd filled with beautiful people off the Sunset Strip. You can even roast your own s'mores here over outdoor fire pits made of stone.

When you want to listen to country music in the background while watching football on flat screens and drinking beer out of mason jars, Outpost Hollywood has what you want. Lassos blanket the walls of this country-themed sports bar. Peanut shells litter the floors, while the rest of the place is decorated with cow skulls, antique saddles and fire pits. It may not be the best place to practice your two-step, but sing your heart out every Wednesday at 10 p.m. for Country Karaoke Night, and enjoy great food and drink prices for all less than $10.

Montana's is way on the outskirts of Los Angeles County but worth the drive if you want to learn fun country dances like the country girl shake, the cowboy cha cha or the two-step. People travel from throughout the area to dance the night away under a star-studded horse saddle of a disco ball on one of the largest dance floors in Southern California. This Wild West bar draws a mostly mature crowd with traditional country music during the week and a younger crowd on Saturdays when it plays more Top 40 music toward the end of the night. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dance lessons starting at 7 p.m.
