Best College Bars In Los Angeles

Going to college in Los Angeles is a pretty great opportunity. Not only are you getting a solid education but you also get fabulous weather year-round and celebrity sightings to write home about. The college nightlife in Los Angeles isn't bad either. Cheap eats and discounted drinks are a must for millennials on a budget and there are plenty of bars in the campus areas that have student appeal. If you're a new kid on campus, you might want to take note and check out these picks for the best college bars in Los Angeles.

901 Bar & Grill
2902 S. Figueroa Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90007
(213) 745-7900
www.901bar.com

USC kids love 901 Bar & Grill. It's close, it always has a decent crowd and the two-for-one happy hour from 4-9 p.m. gives those with late classes a chance to get in on the deal. The 901, as it's usually referred to, opens at 11 a.m. and serves food until 10 p.m. with no delivery charge. The 901 offers a 25 percent discount on food and drinks for SC students (faculty, too) with a valid USC ID. There's also plenty of TVs to catch your favorite game.

Traditions
3551 Trousdale Parkway
Los Angeles, CA 90089
(213) 821-3445
www.usctraditions.com

The fact that Traditions is located right in the USC campus food court is more than enough of a draw to get students in the door. Inside, there are 10 flat screens, a stellar menu of popular college kid fare like tacos, nachos, chicken wings and a royale with cheese burger that will silence anyone's hunger grumble. Happy hour and designated food special nights ( $.50 wing Mondays, taco Tuesday, between the bun Wednesdays, hotdog Thursdays and mac & cheese Fridays) are a big draw. But if you're not a Trojan fan, you may want to steer clear.

Mom's Bar & Lounge
12238 Santa Monica Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90025
(310) 820-6667
www.momsbar.com

Friendly staff and incredibly cheap drinks is what UCLA students will find at Mom's Bar & Lounge. Never a cover and no minimum on large parties are just a couple of reasons why Mom's has been around since the 50's and a favorite watering hole for locals and college kids alike. Free homemade garlic-lemon-salt-pepper potato chips, food trucks and happy hour are a few more reasons to stop in. If you're still not convinced, big screens, state of the art sound and free shots during big games also await you.

The Daily Pint
2310 Pico Blvd.
Santa Monica, CA 90405
(310) 450-7631
www.thedailypint.net

The Daily Pint understands that not all college kids are created equal and appeals to the students with more sophisticated tastes but not lacking in fun. With more than 500 types of whiskey, 37 beers on tap and 93 beers in bottles and cans The Daily Pint is a big hit with UCLA students, whiskey lovers and locals. It's on the small side but still big enough for a pool and foosball table and a shuffle board. It has a couple of TVs, but they break out the projector for big games and free appetizers on NFL Sundays.

Cha Cha Lounge
2375 Glendale Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90039
(323) 660-7595
www.chachalounge.com/losangeles

Not exactly close to any college campuses, but the Cha Cha Lounge is everything that college kids love. Cheap drinks, strong drinks, drink specials and a whole bunch of weird decor you can Instagram with hashtags. It also has a foosball table, photo booth and occasional DJ. For out-of-state students, the Cha Cha Lounge pretty much sums up LA with it's hipster crowd, food trucks and street parking dilemma.
