Another angle to ride and view the valley is via the Caballero Canyon Trail, which is found in the Santa Monica Mountains. It's a four-mile journey that goes up the canyon on the north side of the Santa Monica Mountains, which will give you views of the San Fernando Valley. This perspective might make you feel like you're partly in the valley.

It's highly likely there are still many folks living in Southern California that don't even know the community of Eagle Rock was named after an actual rock. But it's there, right off the 210 freeway. This bike route features a four-mile ride up Eagle Springs Fire Road, which also leads to a very cool sandstone summit in Topanga State Park. You may be able to see the rock from the freeway, too. So, take this nature trail instead of living life in the fast lane by taking the roads.
