As one of the Food Network's most recognizable personalities, Alton Brown has cultivated a reputation for explaining the science behind food in a way that is both informative and entertaining. Brown will be spending his Friday night in Orange County for his latest stage production, "Eat Your Science." Hinting that he will be able to do things that he can't run with on television, Brown manages to tastefully include some humor and hi-jinks while providing us with the scientific details of our dining experience.

The Finale: KROQ Weenie Roast

This weekend is bittersweet as the final Weenie Roast will be roasted at Irvine Meadows. Playing host the summer kickoff party since 1993, this is the final season before the Meadows are torn down. Before the gates close one last time, KROQ has pulled out all the stops for a proper send off. With headlining duties helmed by Red Hot Chili Peppers, the hoorah will definitely rekindle memories of Weenie's past. With diverse line-ups that ranging from Oingo Boingo, the Pretenders, and Devo to Sublime, No Doubt, and Rage Against the Machine, there is plenty of history down in Irvine. It's very likely the crew will be going out with a bang.

Old World of Huntington Beach has been part of the city's fabric since the late 70's. An institution for German food and drink, the place is best known for their rowdy Oktoberfest parties and for the fast-paced four-legged hustle of the monthly Wiener dogs races that happen on the grounds. Spend your Sunday knocking back imported beer from massive steins and cheering on some of the most adorable racers to ever set foot on a track. Guests can also sample authentic German faire in between races and suds.
