Baby Boy's Death At South LA Motel Under Investigation

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Police are at a South LA motel Wednesday to investigate the death of a baby boy.
The Torrance boy, who was just shy of 18 months old, was reportedly found responsive Tuesday at the Rosa Bell Motel in the 5600 block of South Western Avenue. The boy was in medical distress as he taken by Los Angeles City firefighters to a hospital, where he died, according to the LAPD.
The circumstances or cause of the child's death was not known, but an examination of the boy is pending.
It's unclear who the baby was with at the time of his death.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office and the LAPD's Abused Child section were at the motel Wednesday for the ongoing investigation.
