Search underway for missing hiker in Altadena

Authorities are seeking public assistance in locating a missing hiker in the Altadena area. 

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department

According to a statement from Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, 65-year-old Albert Zisook was last seen on Saturday at around 6 a.m. near Chaney Trail and Alta Loma Drive. 

Zisook is described as a White man standing around 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighing around 165 pounds. He has gray hair and blue eyes and wears glasses. 

Family members say that he was last seen wearing a gray, long-sleeved t-shirt and green pants with a brown hiking hat. 

They also noted that Zisook is an avid hiker who has never been gone for this long. 

Deputies with the department's search and rescue team could be seen scouring the wilderness around the trails on Monday as they continued their search. There were also dozens of fliers with Zisook's information posted along the trails to notify any other hikers in the area.
