Authorities Identify Gunman Killed By Police During Standoff At Rosemead Home
ROSEMEAD (CBSLA.com) — A 33-year-old man who was fatally shot by a Los Angeles Police Department SWAT officer during a standoff in Rosemead has been identified, officials said Thursday.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, Tien Hua, of Rosemead, was identified as the armed suspect.
Hua was shot and killed after barricading himself inside of a home located in the 3500 block of Strang Avenue around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, officers said.
Authorities said the standoff began when officers tried to serve arrest and search warrants at the residence.
During the incident, neighbors were evacuated and SWAT teams were brought in to assist at the scene.
Hua was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Henry Estrada, which took place just before 9 p.m. on Sunday in the 2000 block of Sycamore Avenue in the Hollywood Hills area.
