Artesia Man Suspected In Stanton Gas Station Robbery Believed To Be Behind More OC Crimes

STANTON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of robbing a Stanton gas station may be linked to several other robberies in the area.

Christian Jauregui Suazo of Artesia was taken into custody following a police pursuit in Lakewood about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff's Lt. Mark Stichter said.

Suazo is suspected of entering an Alliance gas station on Cerritos Avenue at about 5:20 a.m. Tuesday and brandishing a handgun before fleeing the scene with an unknown amount of cash.

He was arrested on suspicion of robbery in the Stanton incident, but investigators are looking into whether he may be connected to other robberies in the area, Stichter said.

"Investigators are looking at connecting him to several other robberies in our jurisdiction and in other jurisdictions," Stichter said.

Suazo was being held Wednesday morning on $50,000 bail. His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
