Arson Teams Probing Cause Of Church Fire In South LA
MACARTHUR PARK (CBSLA.com) — Arson investigators Friday were trying to determine the cause of a fire at a Korean church in South LA.
The fire was reported around 1:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Westlake Avenue, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a children's play area, which was located in between the church and an apartment complex, on fire.
The fire quickly spread to the a front office of the church.
It took crews 19 minutes to knock down the fire.
The church's sanctuary was not harmed.
The apartment complex, in addition to four vehicles, also sustained some damage.
No injuries were reported.
A worship task force, which includes arson investigators, were on the scene.
