Ariana Grande Apologizes For 'Doughnut Fiasco' In 4-Minute YouTube Clip
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Ariana Grande is apologizing yet again, but this time for what she refers to as "the doughnut fiasco and craziness."
The apology via YouTube comes a day after Grande posted a public apology via Twitter in which she said she was sorry for saying she hated America, explaining that she was merely referring to America's food selection.
In Thursday's four-minute clip, the 22-year-old said: "I feel like the apology that I posted, I kinda missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologize and express how I was feeling because I was too busy preaching about my issues with the food industry."
Grande this week made headlines after she was accused of licking and spitting on doughnuts at the Wolfee Donut Shop in Lake Elsinore on July 4.
The pop princess had been heard saying "I hate Americans. I hate America" in a clip of the incident released this week.
Grande went on in the apology clip to say, "I've actually never been prouder to be an American, to be honest with you."
"Seeing the video of yourself behaving poorly that you have no idea was taken is such a rude awakening that it's like you don't know what to do.
"I was so disgusted with myself. I like shoved my face in the pillow and wanted to disappear. But instead of that, I'm gonna come forward and own up to what I did and take responsibility," she said.
Grande also says it hasn't been an easy 24 hours, adding, "I made a mistake and I'm being judged for it. I understand because I watched it, and I was just as disappointed in myself."
