Apple Watch On Sale In West Hollywood

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — More than 100 people lined up in West Hollywood Friday for the global launch of the Apple Watch.

The first person in line arrived at Maxfield's, 8825 Melrose Avenue, at 8 a.m. Thursday.

The store, which opened at 9 a.m., was one of only five locations in the world to sell Apple's first wearable product.

The Apple Watch can answer the phone, return text messages, monitor heart rate, operate favorite apps and more.

"The fact that you can order burritos from your Apple Watch is a huge plus for me," customer Ankush Bhasin said.

Apple will not sell the watches in its store until June. Customers can purchase them online, but the back-order wait is about two months.
