Angels Place Reliever Fernando Salas On 15-Day DL

ATLANTA (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels have placed right-hander Fernando Salas on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder.

Salas (4-0) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win in Saturday night's 11-6 win over the Braves in 13 innings. The Angels used eight pitchers in the game.

Manager Mike Scioscia says Salas has had lingering discomfort and the move was made "to try to knock this thing out."

Right-hander Dane De La Rosa was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake before Sunday night's game against the Braves. He allowed two runs while recording one out in his only previous 2014 appearance with the Angels.

De La Rosa was on the DL with right shoulder irritation from April 13 to June 3.
