Angels OF Matt Joyce On Concussion DL, Navarro Recalled
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Angels outfielder Matt Joyce has been placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list after colliding with Erick Aybar on Sunday.
The Angels announced several moves Tuesday.
The Angels also optioned third baseman Kyle Kubitza back to Triple-A Salt Lake and recalled outfielder Efren Navarro.
Joyce's move is retroactive to Monday. He lost consciousness when Aybar's knee hit his chin while they chased a popup in shallow left field in the fourth inning of the AL West-leading Angels' 13-7 victory.
Joyce is batting .178 with five homers and 21 RBIs in a dismal first season with Los Angeles.
Outfielder Shane Victorino reported to the Angels on Tuesday before their game at Houston. Los Angeles acquired the veteran from Boston on Monday in a trade for infielder Josh Rutledge.
