Anaheim Police Seek Gun-Wielding Bank Robber In Cowboy Hat

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Anaheim police are looking for a gun-wielding bank robber in a cowboy hat.

Security cameras show a man entering the Opus Bank branch at 2310 East Lincoln Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 25.

"He comes in and produces a handgun right away," Anaheim police Lt. Tim Schmidt said.

The suspect then points the semi-automatic weapon at the female teller and shows her a note.

"He's very specific in that he tells the teller where he wants the money taken from, what drawer. It's obvious he has some type of knowledge about a bank or he's worried about the teller touching an alarm," Schmidt said.

When the employee complied, the suspect walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash.

"Somebody out there knows who he is, and we are asking them to call the Anaheim Police Department," Schmidt said.

Anyone with information on the crime was asked to contact authorities at (714) 765-1900.
