Anaheim detectives seek information on deadly January shooting

Police are searching for more information on a deadly shooting that happened in Anaheim back in January. 

It happened on Jan. 24 at around 3:15 a.m., according to the Anaheim Police Department. It was then that officers were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Wakefield Avenue, near Gene Autry Way for reports of a shooting, according to a statement from the department.

Upon arrival, police learned that a man had collapsed on the porch of an apartment building and was found suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Paramedics rushed the victim, since identified as 49-year-old Marcy Aguilar, to a hospital where he later died. 

Investigators are still working to determine what motivated the shooting and to identify a suspect. 

"Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, specific details cannot be released at this time," APD said in a statement. 

They believe that there are more witnesses to the incident with information that could help them further their investigation.
