American Folk Music Fest. Kicks Off Sunday In Calabasas To Raise Funds For Cancer Foundation

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The Jennifer Diamond Cancer Foundation is hosting its second annual American Folk Music Festival in Calabasas this weekend to raise money for its programs.

The organization's co-founder, Alice Diamond, spoke with KCAL9's Amber Lee Saturday morning about their efforts.

"We started this - the Jennifer Diamond Cancer Foundation - in 2002 shortly before my daughter passed away from a rare form of cancer... It was her request that we do this, that we help others with cancer," she said.

The American Folk Music Festival will kick off at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Leonis Adobe Ranch and Museum in Calabasas. The event will feature seven musical acts, including guitarist Justin Stein, who gave a sneak peek of his performance at KCAL9.

All money raised at the event will benefit the 25 free programs supported by the Jennifer Diamond Foundation for those affected by cancer.
