An alleged arsonist was arrested on Sunday after investigators determined that they were responsible for sparking a brush fire in Lake Forest.

Orange County Fire Authority crews were called to Portola Parkway and Rancho Parkway at around 1 p.m. after learning of a fire in the area.

They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, which torched just three acres before it was contained.

Details surrounding the investigation remain unclear, but Orange County Sheriff's Department detectives were able to determine that it was an alleged act of arson and that they had located the suspect they believed was responsible.

No information was provided on the suspect, how investigators identified them or how the fire was started. They did not provide a motive either.
