All Lanes Of PCH Reopened In Malibu After Rockslide
MALIBU (AP) — All lanes are now open on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu after several large rocks and dirt fell onto the roadway and forced a partial closure.
The state Department of Transportation announced that the lanes were reopened late Tuesday afternoon between Big Rock Canyon and Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
The initial rockslide occurred Monday night after a weekend of heavy rains.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. John Lecrivain says firefighters arrived and pulled the rocks off the road, but then more debris started coming down.
The highway remained closed for much of Tuesday while state transportation workers assess the situation.
